$234.85...

Several weekends ago I cam home from a weekend up in Washington DC to find the below receipt on my bedside table (You can click on the picture to make it larger).
For those of you two lazy to click on the picture, I can summarize what items are on this receipt in one hyphenated word: MAKE-UP!!!! That's it! two-hundred and thirty-five dollars and eighty-five cents of MAKE-UP!!!

I'm not angry. Really I'm not, but I was trying to think back on something I spent $234.85 on...My "man purchase" of a flat-screen television definitely cost more then that, but that was more a purchase for everyone. I even bought a suit recently, but that didn't even cost $234.85 (It was a $600 suit that I got for under $200 thank you very much).

Am I overreacting here? Do women really spend $200-plus dollars on make up?

I can only congratulate Anna on getting out of the Bobbi Brown kiosk with a bill for 234.85. I won't even tell you how much Leigh and I spent there before the D. Ball. And....the brushes last forever so they are an investment. Kudos to Anna...what a thrifty shopper!!!!! MOM

The hydrating eye cream is the best purchase on that list. I haven't been able to find a better one. This reminds me that I need to make a trip to my local Bobbi Brown counter. Thanks Anna :)

it's only the beginning Jeb! :)

I second the anonymous comment above!. Besides a $6.00 mascara, I "splurge" on Neutragena's face powder and Oil of Olay moisturizer. That's it Jebby. Oh yeah, my lipstick is something called Wet N'Wild...use to go for $.99 but maybe it's gone up in recent months. Doesn't have to be expensive. I'd rather spend Joe's hard-earned money eating out and even that's just now and then.

Anna, this one's for you...(the first comment was for the sole purpose of busting on Jeb) To be honest, I'm in dire need of an up-grade and the only reason I haven't improved on my make-up selections is because I haven't gotten the courage to walk into Bloomies and have the girls behind the make-up counter do a make-over! Looking forward to meeting you. Good luck with the wedding plans.
